It’s good to have Mother’s day and my mom’s birthday in one day. Aside from saving on the costs of the gifts, I am saved from my dramatic tendencies to just say the three-word and eight-letter phrase in two-in-one occasion. hehehe…

My mother was born in Bacolod City. She went to Bohol to study high school and pursue college afterwards. During those times, she and my father were already together. When they got married, they tried living in Manila. However, they relocated here in Bohol for reasons I haven’t asked yet. So here we are, living in Bohol with all the tarsiers and the yummy chocolate hills we can’t eat.

My mother is the hero I looked up to. Though we have misunderstandings sometimes, we resolve it through understanding each other. She’s not perfect. But she’s a supermom. She basically manages the negosyo that puts food on our table three times a day. She likes to drink Coke a lot and she is fond of dogs which are also fond of her and following her around the house constantly.

Though born Ilongga, she now strongly puts our family’s roots as Boholanos. And that is one of the things I am thankful for her. Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Birthday Mom! -May 10,2009-
