Techie Blues of Bohol ’s writer hails from Bohol, Philippines. Cathytejano started her techie blues while still a senior computer engineering student and this blog is her techie counterpart to her personal blog, Student Blues of Bohol.
Rose Catherine Salazar-Tejano is a 21-year-old lass. She earned her undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology - Tagbilaran City Campus. She particularly enjoys her college life being the vice-governor in her department and the schoolpaper’s editor-in-chief. She serves the DOST SA Bohol (Department of Science and Technology Scholar’s Association in Bohol) by being its secretary for three years. She has also received a laurel from the Order of the Knights of Rizal during the 2004 National Essaywriting Contest by placing fifth.
She particularly digs into information technology and blessedly got her field training in Auza.net during her whole fifth year of CoE studies. Within the period, she learns Search Engine Optimization, Content Management System, Voice Over Internet Protocol and Desktop Publishing - things she could not possibly learn within the corners of the school.
She is the youngest child and only daughter of two supportive parents, Pepito “Dodoy” and Elena “Lina”. She has two brothers namely John Ritchell and Michael Andre. John helps in the family business while Michael is based in Metro Manila working in ACS(Affiliated Computer Services).
She dreams of building her family’s dreamhouse and traveling to Italy’s finest cities. She prefers a simple peaceful life and the company of few but good people. Her ultimate dreams were to become an architect and journalist. Right now, she practically dreams to becoming a purpose-driven IT professional and becoming an entreprenuer in the food business by building a cake shop since she thinks she has a gift in baking (her mother said it so) . Her dreams are really complicated and “module coupled” from each other but truly are in “cohesion”. She likes to dream, really. Afterall, reality is basically build up with dreams first. She thinks so.
